Big Bucks Are Falling Like Autumn Leaves!

By Kenneth Piper

It's been a crazy start to the 2024 seasons. What began as a furry with a cool front helping the early openers soon drizzled out for a few slow weeks.

As we head into November, however, the action has picked up and then some. Our BTR scorers have been working their tails off and put more than 50 bucks in the record book in just the past 10 days.

Of course there were some slammers in there, many of which you can read about in upcoming issues of Buckmasters and Rack magazines.

A few of the highlights include ...

Ethan Eyre got a 202 1/8 monster on Oct. 10 in Highland County, Ohio. Master scorer husband and wife team Toby and Lori Hughes are trying to get bucks of their own, but they managed to squeeze in time to score Ethan's buck (and a whole bunch more).

Dan Westhoven shot a 184 6/8 beauty on Oct. 14 in Highland County, Ohio, as measured by master scorer Ed Waite.

Ed also scored Andrew Richards' 192 7/8 inch compound bow buck from Pickaway County, also in Ohio. Harvest date was Oct. 3, so Andrew proves you can beat the early October lull!

Finally, Toby and Lori measured another giant, Brandon Thomas' 196 3/8 compound bow buck from Clark County, Ohio ... Yes, it's been another great start to the Buckeye bow season!

And those bucks are just a few of the great deer hitting the ground all over the country.
