If you’re like me and enjoy hunting on public land, you’ve probably noticed most hunters are not willing to walk three to four miles to reach the best hunting areas. This seems to be the case even on graded roads where motorized vehicles are not allowed.
Mature bucks have adapted to this human behavior, so the best hunting is generally far off the beaten path.
I like to access deep areas of public land where unimproved roads make my mountain bicycle useable, yet it’s too far for the average Joe to walk.
Initially, the big problem for me was finding a way to get all my hunting gear from point A to point B.
I invested in a cart specifically built for bicycles to pull children. With large-diameter wheels and high clearance, it’s perfect for bringing along all my hunting gear.
You can find them online for anywhere from $150-$260. As much as hunters spend on hunting leases, I figure this investment is well worth it if I can increase the size of my hunting territory and find better bucks!
Not only will you have better free places to hunt, you’ll get the physical fitness bonus.
