Here’s an easy-to-make and very comfortable hunting seat. It’s lightweight, portable, swivels and is a good height for just about anyone.
Seat Items:
5 gallon bucket with handle
Jon Boat seat Swivel base (the square kind that will fit flat against bucket)
Tools:
Pencil or marker Drill and drill bit (likely 1/4")
Bolts, washers and nuts (should come with the boat seat and swivel)
Philips head screwdriver
Socket wrench (likely 3/8”)
Building Instructions:
First, turn the bucket upside down and place the swivel seat bracket against the bottom, marking the four holes with the pencil or marker.
Drill holes in the marks.
Mount swivel base to bucket using Philips head screwdriver, washers and bolts that came with swivel base.
Tighten with screwdriver and socket wrench.
Mount boat seat to swivel base using washers and bolts that it came with boat seat. Tighten with screwdriver and socket wrench.
Now you are ready to take it to your ground blind or shooting house. Use scent-free oil to lubricate and prevent squeaking.
