Prior to presenting a bear, deer, moose or wild turkey for registration, a hunter may not possess or leave the animal in the field or forest unless they have securely attached a plainly visible tag to the animal with their name, address, and license number on the tag, according to MDIFW.
Hunters can make their own tag to attach to the animal which must include the hunter’s name, address, and license number, or a Maine transportation tag can be downloaded.
Any harvested wild turkey, deer, bear or moose must be registered at a registration station. When visiting tagging stations, hunters are asked to practice social distancing and wear a mask when interacting with tagging agents.

Moose hunters are asked to be aware that North Maine Woods is not operating the St. Pamphile check station this year; as a consequence, moose and other big game hunters will not be able to register their harvested game and should plan to locate another nearby registration station.
