The new 2017 Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec Side-by-Side (SxS) boasts a new nimble chassis with a compact design, look and feel, a comfortable and secure cab with seating for two, Yamaha’s proven core technologies, and overall superior handling and durability with industry-leading suspension adjustability. The Wolverine R-Spec is made for every hunter, and recognized as such by receiving the NRA’s Golden Bullseye Award for “Vehicle of the Year”, as well as the “Best of the Best” accolade by Field and Stream.
Built to navigate tight, technical trails and challenging terrain with Yamaha’s industry-leading Ultramatic™ transmission, On-Command® four-wheel drive system, Electric Power Steering (EPS) and a new double overhead cam 708cc engine with optimized torque, power delivery and engine character, the Wolverine R-Spec will get you to and from any hunting spot, no matter how remote or rugged.
The Wolverine R-Spec’s long-travel suspension with KYB piggyback shocks features 9.7 inches of travel up front and 10.6 inches of travel out back – more suspension customization than any other model in its class. Its aggressive new styling creates a nimble and compact-feeling chassis designed to maximize rider visibility on expedition-length adventures thanks to the 9.7-gallon gas tank. And the Wolverine R-Spec can hold all of your favorite hunting gear in the lightweight, durable injection-molded composite cargo bed rated to haul up to 300 pounds of gear and supplies with six steel tie-down points, as well as by utilizing the two-inch receiver hitch, which is rated to haul an additional 1,500 pounds.
For 2017, the Wolverine R-Spec is available in the Realtree Xtra Camo pattern – an industry-first on a SxS – along with a new Yamaha Blue, Hunter Green and Alpine White. MSRP starts at $13,199.
For those even more adventurous, a new Special Edition (SE) Wolverine R-Spec features Matte Silver and Black painted bodywork with color matched seats, convenient under seat storage, and durable injection-molded polypropylene overfenders for increased protection from the elements. Furthering the off-road capability and comfort of the Wolverine R-Spec, the new SE adopts a stout yet lightweight full-length, full coverage aluminum skid plate set, aluminum A-arm guards, robust 12-inch true bead lock wheels and a new soft grip over-mold steering wheel with a design exclusively developed for ultimate off-road control and handling. MSRP for the new Wolverine R-Spec SE is $14,799.
