Put A Little Christmas Spirit In Your Hunting
By Ken Piper
Whether hunting from a treestand or the ground, it seems you can always use at least a little more cover. Real cuttings work, but it's hard to keep them in place and even harder to make them fit right where you need them. And if you've priced fake greenery at the local craft store, you know that's not an affordable option, either.
Here's something that will work like a charm: The next time you see fake Christmas trees on clearance or at a yard sale, grab one for hunting. The limbs are usually wire-backed so they can be positioned and re-positioned any way you need them, and they're designed to pack tight. Four or five of these fake branches, especially those from near the bottom of the tree, can make a decent setup a great one and give you the extra seconds you need to pull up your gun or bow without being seen.
