OKC Adirondack Series

Ontario Knife Company (OKC), the award-winning cutlery maker with more than 130 years of experience creating quality knives for every need has added a new series of blades for hunters that’ll make quick work of skinning or any outdoor cutting task. Introducing the new OKC Adirondack Series, to include the new ADK Keene Valley Hunter and the ADK High Peaks Hunter fixed blade knives.

“Designed by OKC blademaster Dan Maragni, the new Adirondack Series pays homage to the Adirondack Mountains in northeastern New York, OKC’s home state as well the location associated with a long tradition of hunting, trapping, fishing and beautiful scenery,” said Kenneth Trbovich, President and CEO of Ontario Knife Company. “Both the new ADK Keene Valley Hunter and the ADK High Peaks Hunter are quality USA-made knives designed for field dressing game as well as any cutting task in the field or back at camp. We are confident they will quickly become fan favorites among hunters and outdoor enthusiasts,” he added.

The Keene Valley in the Adirondacks is known as the gateway to the High Peaks and the communities of the valley supplied many of the local hunting guides. The new OKC ADK Keene Valley Hunter knife features a broad, flat ground 3.7-inch 420HC Stainless Steel blade that boasts superior cutting/slicing geometry, perfectly designed for skinning large game, but also has a profile ideal for any cutting application. The knife has an overall length of 9.4-inches. A long finger guard on the handle keeps fingers from slipping upwards and getting hurt when skinning, while a large butt aligns your hands with the blade to keep you focused on what you’re cutting.

Named after the famous 46 High Peaks of the Adirondacks, the new Adirondack High Peaks Hunter is a versatile caper-style knife built to skin any sized game large to small. Made from strong 420HC Stainless Steel, the knife has an overall length of 9.44 inches with a blade length of 3.6 inches. Its narrow blade, expanded blade belly and fine point are designed for quick, efficient gutting and can also be used for smaller game or as a caper. The knife’s handle is ergonomic in design, with a sweep to keep your forefinger where it needs to be along with a finger guard for added safety. The handle also tapers down on the bottom, so hunters can easily accomplish rotating cuts when skinning game.

Perhaps the most eye-catching feature of both knives in the Adirondack Series is their distinctive handle design. The outdoors-inspired marbled coloring combined with durable Micarta material makes it both functional and unique at the same time. The Micarta material not only means the knife can take on a lot of punishment outdoors, it also ensures your grip will stay solid even when hands get wet or bloody while skinning.

Both USA-made knives in the Adirondack Series come with a quality belt-loop style leather sheath and are available for a great price under $100 (MSRP for the OKC High Peaks Hunter is: $89.95 and MSRP for the OKC ADK Keene Valley Hunter is $94.95.)
