Online deer harvest reporting now available

Online deer harvest reporting now available

By Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department

An online harvest reporting option is now available to hunters to report their deer. The online reporting option was initiated to prevent and slow the spread of the COVID virus.

Big game reporting stations and game wardens are still available for in-person reporting of bear and deer. Proper safety precautions are a must, including proper social distancing, wearing a mask or facial covering when appropriate, washing/sanitizing hands, and respecting the personal space of others while reporting.

The department is asking hunters who get a deer during the November 14-29 regular season to provide an incisor tooth from their deer. The deer’s age can be determined from the tooth, and results will be available on the Fish & Wildlife website in the spring.

Tooth envelopes and tooth removal instructions are available at reporting stations. Hunters who choose to report their deer online, can still provide a tooth by dropping it off at a reporting station before November 30, or by mailing the tooth along with the hunter’s name, date of kill and Conservation ID to Deer Project.
